The holy places of Uttarakhand
Everyone knows that Uttarakhand is the most beautiful place in the world. Uttarakhand is the source of attracting tourist. Most of the famous holy place is char Dham (four temples) and Haridwar. Char Dham is the name of pilgrim places that are wildly revered by most of the Hindu. Char dham is the important Hindu pilgrimage. The four temples are Yamunotri , Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath. This char dham yatra also called chota char Dham. Hindus consider visiting the Char Dham to be very auspicious.
Yamunotri is source of Yamuna river and and seat of the goodness Yamuna. It is the full day journey from Rishikesh, Hridwar and Dehradun. The current temple is of recent origin, as past iterations has been destroyed by the weather and elements. Gangotri is the source of Ganga River the seat of goddess of Ganga. It can be reach in one days travel from Rishikesh, Haridwar or Dehrdun, or in two days from Yamunotri. Kedarnath where is the god Shiva is venerated as one of the twelve jyotiring. It is the two days journey from the journey from either Gangotri or one of the main disembarkation points on the plains. Badrinath, the seat of the Hindu god Vishnu in his aspect of Badrinarayan, is generally a two-day’s journey from either Kedarnath or one of the main disembarkation points on the plains.
Since the 1960, the importance of the Chota Char Dham as both an real destination and an aim of the national Hindu spiritual thoughts has full-grown significantly. Chota char Dham yatra became an important destination for pilgrims from throughout South Asia. Haridwar is an important pilgrimage city. The River Ganga is after flowing for 253 kilometer from its source Gaumukh at the edge of the Gangotri Glacier. Haridwar is regard as one of the seven holiest places to Hindus
